Bengaluru, Nov 3: In a decisive effort to combat illegal property registrations and tax evasion, the Karnataka government has announced mandatory e-khata requirements under the Digital Integration Khata Rules for all property sales and purchases. This measure aims to enhance transparency and integrity in property transactions across the state.

The initiative responds to alarming reports of individuals using fraudulent paper-based khata documents to register properties without legitimate property accounts. Investigations have uncovered instances where properties within the jurisdictions of gram panchayats, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), and municipal corporations were fraudulently documented despite lacking formal registration.

By implementing mandatory e-khata, the government intends to protect potential buyers from becoming victims of these fraudulent activities. The e-khata system is designed to mitigate risks associated with duplicate registrations, property disputes, and the establishment of fake accounts. Officials believe that this will not only streamline the registration process but also ensure that property transactions are conducted with greater transparency and efficiency.

This proactive initiative is expected to safeguard the interests of innocent buyers while promoting accountability in property dealings throughout Karnataka. By adopting digital solutions, the government aims to foster a more reliable and trustworthy real estate market in the state.

    The GOK implementation of e-khata for registration is not in proper manner. Because the clients or the property owners to get loans or financial funds from bank or financials institutions for that also e khata is mandatory for MDTD registration. I request the revenue minister to relax this system for MDTD and cases. And also mandatory for sale and purchase transactions.

    GOVT SHOULD PUNISHED THE BBMP RI ,RO WHO EILL TAKE BRIBE TO DO THE E KHATA.DIRECTLY ASKING THE BRIBE.FIRST SUSPEND THE BBMP OFFICERS WHO HAD TAKEN THE BRIBE FROM MIDDLE CLASS PPL.

    The Government has made a good scheme,but it is not done in a systematic way,it is the responsibility of government to get the E Khath of property to the individual owner who is having assigned PID number, but infact the revenue department/BBMP have made this very combersome so that they could make as a source of income for the BBMP offical to mint the money.The government should think of this and necessary action should be taken to get the E Khata to the PID property owners as they have given all the records at the time of making PID khatha.

    Go to get a property card made, and you'll find bribery happening there. I received my property card after 6-8 months. For E-Khatha, one has to endure MCC and a lot more, and on top of that, property tax. The government never thinks well of anyone.

    Are draft eaasthi and ekhata of Mangalore available online, only if the draft is available, we can upload the necessary documents like sale deed/ sr.no. of sale deed KYC documents ect. and we can get ekhata for download. If anyone has done it here, do advice. I feel that for the transition period, both the old method ( print version) as well as the new method ( digital) should be allowed side by side.

    One way of LOOTING PEOPLE. After many uncomfortable laws , government brought Property Card, thereby lots of harassment. Now by doing this again taxing more the common people. In Mangalore Corporation taxes are heaviest than anywhere in india. Govt is looting 60% of annual income through various taxes, double taxation etc. This is only a way to loot more the common people. Why MPs, MLAs are not foregoing double, triple quadruple pensions and hefty allowances, why there is no law in this regard??
