Mangaluru: CCB operation - MDMA seized, two arrested

Mangaluru, Nov 3: In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested two individuals and seized drugs, including MDMA worth Rs 50,000, two mobile phones valued at Rs 10,000, and a two-wheeler worth Rs 50,000 on Bajpe to Kateel road at Thenkavakkaru village near Permude panchayat cross.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Umar Farooq (38), son of H Abdul Khader from Jokatte, 62nd Thokur village and Mohammed Abdul Junaid (34), son of Mansoor from Jarinagar, Bajpe.

Acting on a tip-off, the CCB team, under the guidance of police commissioner Anupam Agarwal, conducted an operation on November 2, leading to the arrest of the accused in possession of 9.11 grams of MDMA and other contraband items. The team was led by PSI Revanasiddappa and supported by various personnel from the CCB unit. The case has been registered at Mangaluru North Police Station.
