Mumbai, Nov 30: Bollywood’s martial arts expert and Chitah Jeet Kune Do Global Sport Federation chairman Chitah Yajness Shetty, who is dedicated to the revival of martial arts in India, organized a celebration of Karate legend Bruce Lee’s birth anniversary at Andheri Sports Complex on Sunday November 27.
A national tournament was held at Andheri Sports Complex on Saturday November 26 and Sunday November 27, which was attended by nearly 3,000 children from across the country.
A 71 kg cake was cut by 71 children to mark the event. Yajness Shetty had also created a ‘Bruce Lee Tree’ that displayed 71 philosophy-focused themes.
He distributed 701 plants to children who took them home to be planted. The organizer had also made a huge greeting card on which people scribbled tributes to Bruce Lee.
Special martial arts were performed by the students for guests which included celebrities like comedy king Govinda, Aanaahad from the film ‘Lahore’, Gilbert D’Souza, Ravindra Chouhan, Lucky Sharma, and N B Mohete.
Shetty’s decision to celebrate Bruce Lee’s birthday in such a unique manner was appreciated by everyone. He said, “I want to spread martial arts and want everyone to learn. It not only makes you disciplined, but also physically and mentally stronger.”
