Mangalore, Nov 28: Alleged serial killer Mohan Kumar alias Cyanide Mohan, is charged with luring several girls into marrying him, and then killing them the next day after taking into possession their valuables. It has now come to light that he had also defrauded some lady teachers and banks, by availing loans and not repaying them.
It is gathered that Mohan had got nine fake rubber stamps made, to help him in this connection. By using these seals, he created fake salary certificates in blank sheets, with seals and signatures of school headmasters and block education officers, on the basis of which, banks were ready to lend to him. At the same time, he was able to convince some of his women colleagues to stand as guarantors for his loan. As he did not repay these loans, these guarantors were compelled to repay them.
It is said that one of his colleagues paid nearly Rs 1,50,000 towards repayment of loan raised by Mohan, by way of deduction from her salary for several years. Some guarantors even now continue to repay the loans raised by Mohan, it is learnt.
On Saturday November 26, officials concerned confirmed in the court that all the nine rubber seals found at the house of Mohan’s wife after his arrest, were in fact fake. These seals bore the names of block education officers in Beltangady, Bantwal and Puttur and headmasters of some schools.
