Mangalore, Nov 27: The fishermen have been alerted on Saturday November 26, against venturing into the sea along and off south Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala, South Karnataka coasts and Lakshadweep sea during next 48 hours.
As per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression has formed over the Comorian area and neighborhood and lay centered at 8.30 hours IST on November 26 near latitude 7.5 degree N and longitude 76 5 degree E, about 120km south- southwest of Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) 400 km east south east of Minicoy (Lakshadeep Island), 400 km west northwest of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and 500 km north – northeast of Male (Maldives).
The system is likely to move west- northwestwards across Lakshadweep area and intensify into a deep depression during next 48 hours, stated a press release.
Under the influence of this system, rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep islands during next 48 hours.
Squally winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph is likely to prevail along and off south Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala, South Karnataka coasts and Lakshadweep area. Sea condition will be rough to very rough along and off south Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala, South Karnaaka coasta and Lakshadweep area during the same period, as per the release.
