Puttur, Oct 2: A collision between two KSRTC buses left a couple injured on October 1 near Addahole on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75, close to Gundya village in Shiradi.

The accident occurred when a KSRTC bus traveling from Dharmasthala to Bengaluru collided head-on with another KSRTC bus heading from Bengaluru to Dharmasthala near the Addahole petrol station.

Both vehicles were damaged in the incident. A couple from Hassan, identified as Nagendra Prasad (60) and Bharathi (54), who were traveling in the Bengaluru-bound bus, sustained injuries. They were immediately transported to Sakleshpur Government Hospital via a Shiradi 108 ambulance for treatment.

This marks the third accident involving KSRTC buses in the Gundya area within a two-week period. Local residents expressed their frustration at the scene, blaming bus drivers’ reckless speeding for the frequent accidents along the highway. Nelady outpost police arrived at the site to bring the situation under control.
