Mangaluru, Sep 6: Yenepoya Centre for Faculty Development (YEN-FDC), a constituent centre of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Deralakatte observed “Teacher’s Day 2024” on September 4, to felicitate the teachers from all the constituent units with the “Teacher of the Year Award 2024”.
Around 350 teachers from all the constituent units of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) participated in the programme. Prof B Ravi, director, NITK Surathkal was the chief guest for the programme.
Dr K S Gangadhara Somayaji, registrar, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) delivered the welcome address.
The chief guest, Prof B Ravi, director, NITK Surathkal addressed the audience on role of teachers and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on education, research, innovation and delivery to the society.
Teacher of the year awards and department with academic excellence awards were given on the basis of stakeholder’s feedback. i.e., students, alumni, supervisors and heads of the constituent units.
As many as 32 teachers from all constituent units of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) were honored with “Teacher of the Year" awards. In all, 13 departments from all the constituent units of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) were awarded with “Academic Excellence Awards.”
Dr B H Sripathi Rao, pro vice chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) was a part of the award selection process and thanked the expert committee of each constituent college for collection of feedbacks from all stakeholders.
Dr Abhay S Nirgude, deputy director, YEN-FDC, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) & dean, faculty of medicine, YMC proposed a Vote of Thanks. The masters of the ceremony for the program were Dr Neha Haswani, and Dr Aishwarya. Dr Vinita Boloor, Dr Neha Haswani, Dr Sridevi K, Dr Imran Pasha were the organizing team members of the Teacher’s Day celebration. The program ended with the national anthem.
