Mangaluru, Sep 6: Mahatma Gandhi Centenary (MGC) School, Bondel, marked a significant milestone with the grand opening ceremony of its emerald jubilee, celebrating 55 years of educational excellence. The event was held on September 4, in the school premises and was organized by the management, staff, students, PTA and alumni.
The ceremony was graced by chief guest Bonaventure D’Souza, executive member of the alumni association, guest of honour Leena Rego, Sr Sucorine Rebello, correspondent & headmistress of MGC School. The principal of the college, Dr Sr Flora Borges, along with Sr Sangeeta headmistress of Kannada Medium and Jagadish Poojary, vice president of the PTA, vice president of alumni Praneeth were the key dignitaries present.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by Sr Sucorine Rebello, Sr Sangeeta had the honour of felicitating the esteemed guests. A significant highlight of the event was the unveiling of the emerald jubilee Logo by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Sr Flora Borges, the principal, provided an insightful explanation of the logo, symbolizing the institution's rich legacy and commitment to future growth. Sr Laveena gave a gist of memory lane. Sr Helen appreciated the staff for their dedicated service.
The programme was further enhanced by a stirring Jubilee Anthem and a vibrant dance performance by the students, adding a touch of cultural flair to the celebrations. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Sr Siji Thomas, acknowledging the contributions of all involved in making the Emerald Jubilee opening ceremony a memorable occasion.
