Beltangady, Nov 16: The annual Laksha Deepotsava (festival of lights) will be held at Dharmasthala from November 20 to 25. MP, Maneka Gandhi, will be participating in the 79th all religions meet.
The state level exhibition to be conducted at the stadium of Sri Manjunatheshwara High School will be inaugurated by deputy commissioner of the district, Dr N A Chennappa Gowda, on November 20 in a function to be presided over by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade. On all the five days of the Deeotsava, cultural programmes will be presented at the exhibition pandal. On November 20, Hosakatte Utsava of Lord Manjunatha Swamy will be conducted.
Kerekatte Utsava of the lord will be held on November 21. A number of groups will present instrumental music at the fine arts meet being held on November 22 at Amrutavarshini Hall. Udupi Gundibail Bhakta brothers will present entertainment programme, while Ocean Kinds, Kankanady, Mangalore ,will present modern dance. Students of Alva’s high School Moodbidri will stage a play, ‘Panjarashale’. Nritya Niketana Beltangady will present a group Bharat Natyam dance programme. On November 22 night, Lalitodyana Utsava of the Lord will be held.
The 79th all religions meet (Sarva Dharma Sammelana) to be held at Amrutavarshini Hall on November 23 will be inaugurated by former head of Indian Speace Research Organization, Dr G Madhavan Nair. MP, Maneka Gandhi, representing Pilibhit constituency in UP, will preside. Addresses by eminent personalities will be the main feature of the programme. This will be followed by a programme of Carnatic music presentation by Ranjani and Gayatri. On the same night, Kanchimaru Utsava of the Lord will be conducted.
The literary meet to be held on November 24 will be presided over by Bangalore University vice-chancellor, Dr N Prabhudeva. Critic from Dharwad, Dr Giraddi Govindaraja, will preside. Lecturers will be presented by different persons, followed by Bharat Natyam presentation by Revati Narasimhan and troupe from Natya Niketana, Bangalore. At night, Gaurimarukatte Utsava and silver car festival will be held at night.
On November 25, Samavasarana Puja will be conducted at Chandranatha Swamy Basadi.
