Mangalore: Rowdy Sheeter Double Murder Case - Four More Held

Mangalore, Nov 16: Police on Tuesday November 15 arrested four persons for the double murder of Murugesh and his brother-in-law, Upendra, at Shivanagara, Moodushedde in the city on Friday November 11.
The arrested are Prashant (21) from Bajal Kudkurigudde, Nawaz (21) from Bajal Kallakatte, Gaurish Kumar (21) from Bajal Kuntalgudde, and Hariprasad (23) from Shivanagara Moodushedde.

With this, the number of arrests in the case has risen to seven.
Murugesh, an accused in the murder of notorious rowdy, Vamanjoor Rohi, and his brother-in-law, Upendra, were savagely murdered in broad daylight on last Friday. The police, in a swift action, had taken into custody Raghu, Gopal, and Faisal from Muddushedde and neighbouring areas on the same evening.
The four arrested, in an attempt to flee to Mumbai, had arrived at the city central railway station here at around 2 pm on Tuesday, when a team led by Valentine D’Souza, circle inspector, Panambur, took them into custody. The police have found out that Nawaz, a carpenter by profession, had prepared to escape to a foreign country, and had already booked his onward ticket. Hariprasad is a painter. In the past, cases of murder attempt had been registered in Mangalore Rural and Bantwal Rural police stations against Nawaz and Hariprasad respectively.
In the meantime, Raghu, Gopal, and Faisal, who are in police custody, were presented in court on Tuesday. They were remanded to judicial custody till November 28.
