Mangaluru, Aug 24: The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of management (MSNIM) organized Job Fair 2024, an open-to-all career expo, on Friday, August 23, at its Besant Campus in Bondel. The event attracted around 450 job seekers, primarily graduates in BCom, BBA, BSc, BPharma, MBA, MCom, and BE streams, and saw participation from 44 companies offering various pay scales, with the highest package being Rs 8 lac per annum.

K Natraj Hegde, vice chairman, CII Mangaluru-Udupi chapter was the chief guest for the inauguration ceremony. Manel Annappa Nayak, president of Womens’ National Education Society (WNES), presided over the programme. The institute director, Dr Molly S Chaudhuri was present.

In his address, the chief guest, K Natraj Hegde, commended MSNIM’s efforts in providing valuable corporate exposure to management students. "In earlier times, students rarely had the opportunity to gain corporate exposure. Today, it’s essential. I encourage students to seize this opportunity to enter the corporate world, learn, and prepare for a successful career," he said.

In his presidential address, Manel Annappa Nayak noted the complexities of the modern job market as it has evolved with specialization. "Students often aim for big brands and high packages without the necessary experience and expertise. I urge students to explore companies where they can gain comprehensive learning and experience, which will form a strong foundation for their careers," he said. He also advised students to remain with their companies, even under work pressure, as it can add valuable experience to their resume.

First-year MBA student Shreya Mahale welcomed the gathering and introduced the programme. Ramya Shetty delivered the vote of thanks, while Keerthana served as the master of ceremonies. Associate professor Dr Reema Agnes Frank and placement officer James Prasad were the programme coordinators.
