Bantwal, November 5: The rural police here have traced a team involved in cow slaughter in Mularapatna village, Arala on Saturday November 5.
Two persons were taken into custody while trying to steal cows. The two in custody are Irfan (21) of Kalkuripadav in Sangbettu village and Mayyadi (50) of Mularapatna. A pick-up truck and 3 cows have been seized by the police. For the court trial, the two accused are put behind the bars.
The other two members of the team were absconding at the time of the raid operation. They are identified as Farooq and Imthiyaz (pickup truck driver) of Mularapatna, said the police sources. Irfan and Farooq were stealing cows to sell it to Mayyadi of Mularapatna using Imthiyaz’s four-wheeler.
At this time, police seized the cows which were kept ready to slaughter at Mayyadi’s residence. The raid operation was carried out by the sub-inspector Mohemmed Raffiq Tahshildar and his team. Few months ago, in Rayi village, here the cases were filed of the cows being stolen from three houses from the cow sheds. The police investigations are on.
