Kasaragod, Jul 27: Udaya Higher Secondary School, Manjeshwar, hosted a memorable Parents' Day celebration by LKG and UKG students in the school auditorium on July 27. The event, held at 10 am, was the first of its kind at the school, marking a special day dedicated to appreciating parents and guardians.
The programme commenced with an opening by the MCs of the event, Fathima Wafiya, Abdul Rahman Mehmoon, and Sheik Mohamad Aleem, from UKG who warmly welcomed the audience. Zayaan Abdullah from UKG delivered an inspiring welcome speech, setting a positive tone for the day.
The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Praveen D’Souza, and notable school figures, including principal Jerald Ivan Crasta and campus director Fr Santhosh D’Souza.
In his address, Fr Santhosh D’Souza emphasised the importance of instilling good values in children alongside providing for their needs. He noted, "For the first time, we are celebrating Parents' Day in our school. Parents, when you provide necessary things, you should also teach them good values."
The celebration featured various cultural programmes, showcasing the talents of the young students. The performances included dances, action songs, and storytelling, all of which were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. The students' efforts were highly appreciated, as they delivered an impressive and entertaining show.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Moideen Suhayil, from UKG expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the celebration a success.
