Mangalore, Nov 4: Spandana Trust near Infant Mary’s Convent, Jeppu organized a Fancy Dress Competition for the women self-help groups under their organization on Friday November 4.
About 400 people from 26 clusters participated in the competition and exhibited their talent and creativity without any discrimination of cast and creed. People of different religious beliefs like Christians, Hindus and Muslims joined together as one family.
Spandana Trust stands as a good example for harmony and integrity. It works for the empowerment of poor and marginalized and women in particular, in and around Mangalore, irrespective of caste and creed. Sr Mary Emma Joseph, superior of St Joseph Prashanth Nivas, Sathish D’Souza, Ashoknagar, Maxim D’Souza, Angelore were the judges. Sr Evangeline, the administrator spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of women and asked them to continue the same in future too.
Theertha, the social worker welcomed the gathering and Celine delivered the vote of thanks. Reena Lobo and Prafulla D’Ssouza organized the programme. The animators and the other staff members co-operated for the success of the programme.
