Udupi: National Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Day celebrated at Netra Jyothi College

Udupi, Jul 26: National Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Day was celebrated at Netra Jyothi Institute of Allied Health Science and College of Paramedical Science, Udupi.

On this occasion, Dr Ramachandra, senior consultant surgeon at Udupi City Hospital, inaugurated ‘Sangama 2024,’ organized by the OT AT department of the college as part of the day. In his inaugural address, he informed students about the discipline and preparedness required in the operation theatre, stating, “Students must accept victory and defeat equally in life.”

Rashmi Krishnaprasad, administrative director of Netra Charitable Trust and the college, emphasized in her presidential address that “Students should adopt social responsibility in their lives.”

Savitha Nayak, who served in the operation theater at City Hospital, Udupi, and Mallika Surendra, who served in the operation theater at Spandana Hospital Karkala, were felicitated during the event.

The event featured an inter-college quiz and video competition for allied health science and paramedical students. In the quiz competition, students from Netra Jyothi College won first and second positions, while K R Hegde Paramedical College, Kota, secured third place. In the video competition, Netra Jyothi College students won first and third places, and Vidyarathna Paramedical College, Udupi, won second place.

Archana welcomed the gathering, and Manjusha proposed a vote of thanks. Suraksha Shetty served as the master of ceremonies.

Dr Rajgopal Bhandary, anesthesiologist, Prasad Netralaya, Dr Ganapathi Hegde, Dr Gowri Prabhu, CEO of the college, Dr Rajib Mandal, principal, Thara Shashidar, HR, Sachin Shetty, coordinator, Swathi Rao, OT AT lecturer, and others were present at the event.
