Mangalore, Nov 2: The social welfare unit of Spandana Trust ® at Infant Mary’s Convent, Jeppu, Mangalore, had organized singing competition for the women members of the self help group at Jeppu on Tuesday November 1.
600 people belonging to different religions and creeds from about 40 clusters participated in the programme. Sr Evangeline, administrator of the trust, addressed the participants. She hoped that the women will be able to exhibit their hidden talents, and that programmes like these will provide them a forum to bring out and hone their inner talents.
Lona Saldanha, lecturer, St Agnes College, Sr Lynet D’Souza of Infant Mary’s Convent, and Sr Noeline D’Souza of St Gerosa High School, functioned as judges for the competitions.
Amitha welcomed. Hilda D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Social worker of the unit, Theertha K S, compered the programme. The staff extended cooperation for the success of the programme. Victor Vas, coordinator of the organization, was the overall in-charge of the event.
