Mangaluru: Dr Peter Paul Saldanha visits Our Lady of Miracles Church

Mangaluru, Jun 24: Bishop of Diocese of Mangalore and president of Catholic Board of Education, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha was on pastoral visit to Our Lady of Miracles Church, and affiliated educational institutions on June 22 and 23.

After arriving at the Church at 9 am with a prayerful welcome, he visited the Milagres Institutions and interacted with the staff and students of the institutions. Bishop, in his address, urged the students to develop a value-based life with education and to foster good culture, love and compassion through education.

At 5 pm, he celebrated the holy eucharist for the parishioners and blessed the cemetery. He met the Parish Finance Council, Parish Pastoral Parishad and encouraged them to work in unity and brotherhood.

On June 23 at 6.15 am, Bishop delivered the official teaching and celebrated the mass. At 8.30 am, he met the children and teachers followed by the meeting with the various associations of the church, wherein a brief report was presented and the Bishop guided the various associations with his insightful thoughts.

He visited all the religious institutions and the convents of the parish. In the evening, he visited the sick people and attended for the SCC meeting.

Bishop thanked the parish priest Bonaventure Nazareth, assistant parish priest Fr Robin Santhumayer, principals Fr Michel Santhumayor, Fr Uday Fernandes and resident priest Fr Gerald Pinto and the parishioners.
