Kundapura, Jun 19: In a disturbing incident that unfolded here, a 13-year-old boy named Prathvi found himself at the centre of a harrowing ordeal on Monday, June 17.

Engaged in innocent play on his bicycle near Heggeri Government Primary School in Siddapura village, Prathvi was allegedly subjected to a brutal assault by Shantaram Shetty Narumakki (56).

According to reports, Shetty, arriving on a scooter, confronted the young student with aggression, striking him forcefully with his hands and feet. Witnesses recount that Shetty even hurled a stone at Prathvi's bicycle, leaving it damaged in the aftermath.

The incident, which left Prathvi with injuries requiring medical attention, quickly drew attention from locals.

Prompt intervention by Mahabala, a nearby resident, helped ensure the boy's safety amidst the chaos. Prathvi's mother, Pratima, wasted no time in filing a complaint with authorities at the Shankaranarayana police station, documenting the distressing episode.
