Kasargod: Iran Ship Tragedy – Two from Manjeshwar Rescued

Kasargod, Oct 23: In the Iranian ship tragedy which had occurred on Thursday October 20, out of the 73 passengers, 13 people had gone missing.

As many as 60 out of 73 were saved by the rescuers.  Among these 60, two youths, Hosangadi resident Avinash(25) and Uppala Periangadi resident Mohammad Haneed(37) are from Manjeshwar here. Both are safe in Iran and have been communicating with their families through telephone.

It can be recalled that on Thursday due to the strong winds and heavy rains the ship had lost balance and had drowned in the sea. Due to the efforts of locals and fishermen 60 people were saved from the tragedy.
