Mangaluru, Apr 14: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized Merit Day on April 13.
The programme was organized by the college in order to recognize and honour the students who performed exceptionally well in their exams.
The programme began with the invocation to God with a prayerful song led by Chaithralakshmi from MSc chemistry along with her team. This was followed by an exotic welcome dance.
Dr Priyesh C, assistant professor, department of clinical psychology, Manipal College of Health Professionals, MAHE, Manipal and an alumnus of the college was the chief guest. Dr Premanand, associate professor, PG department of psychology introduced the guest and welcomed the gathering. Dr Priyesh in his address to the gathering motivated the students to make best use of the resources available in the college. He inspired the students to be filled with passion in their own field and to change the field if the need arises. He acknowledged the opportunities provided in the college.
Joining the chief guest on the dais were Sr Dr Venissa AC, the principal, and Sr Dr Vinora AC, the PG co-ordinator and Dr Premanand, head, associate professor, PG department of psychology. The meritorious students received their merit certificates from the principal. Special prizes from NCC and NSS along with a number of scholarships were also distributed on this day.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Akshatha, assistant professor, PG department of computer applications (MCA).
