Mumbai, Apr 13: Vokkaligara Sangha Maharashtra held a programme of career guidance at Billavara Bhavan auditorium, Santacruz east in the afternoon on April 7.
Dr Rithesh Sirangekar, principal of Veena College of Commerce and Science, Borivili east was the resource person. He gave guidance and suggestions to students who were preparing for higher education after completing their examinations in 2023 and 2024.
K Rajegowda, president of Vokkaligara Sangha Maharashtra who presided, “lighted the lamp and inaugurated the programme.
Honorary president Rangappa C Gowda, vice president Jithendra J Gowda, honorary chief secretary Gangadhar N Gowda, chief treasurer Deepak R Gowda, joint secretary Ravi P Gowda, joint treasurer Ashok K Gowda, executive committee members Manjunath C Gowda, members H R Choudappa, Dhananjay Gowda, ladies wing leader Lalita Deepak Gowda, Lakshmi Venkatesh Gowda and others who were on the dais felicitated the resource person.
The dignitaries on the dais distributed scholarships, pens and books to the students of primary and higher primary school.
“Children become mentally strong when they are made mobile phone free. They should make use of the facilities provided by the society, study well and become good citizens of the country. They should be prepared to face globalization,” said Rangappa Gowda.
“We have planned to hold programmes such as these every year to educate children. We like to encourage children to be good citizens of the society and build a glorious future for them,” said Raje Gowda.
The programme started after prayers by the ladies wing. Rangappa Gowda inaugurated the programme after praying to Chennakeshava, Kalabhairava Swamy and Gangadhareshwara swamy. Professor Dr Balarama Gowda introduced Dr Sirangekar and gave guidance through a slide show. Pushpalatha Govinda Gowda compered the programme. Professor Chetan Gowda gave a keynote address and proposed a vote of thanks.
