Mangaluru, Apr 9: Personnel from the Kankanady city police station arrested four individuals on Sunday for allegedly stealing cows and slaughtering them.
The arrested accused include Badruddin (65), G Abdul Majid (43), and Khaleel (35), all residents of Kannur Kundala, as well as Mohammed (56), a resident of Harekala.
Majid, Mohammed, Khaleel, Ansar, and others were reportedly in the process of selling cows that had been slaughtered at Badruddin's residence.
During a raid on Badruddin's house, the police seized the carcasses of the cows and equipment used for slaughtering them, with a total value of Rs 32,850. Authorities are currently searching for the five accused who are absconding.
