Mangaluru, Apr 6: Yenepoya Medical College Hospital's (YMCH) department of hospital administration conducted a range of activities on April 4 as a part of the 'World Health Day' celebration on the theme 'My health, my right'. The World Health Day is observed on April 7 around the globe.
The programme commenced at Yenepoya Fever Clinic, marking the beginning of the day, the chief guest Dr Harish Hegde, in-charge medical superintendent and HOD anesthesia department delivered a speech on the importance of patient right.
Dr Nagraj Shet, assistant medical superintendent interacted with the audience in Kannada regarding the rights of patients in the hospital. Mohammed Sabith, deputy hospital operating officer addressed in Malayalam about the different services provided by the hospital and how it would be beneficial for the patients and the bystanders. Rifa of 2nd year MHA delivered a talk on the rights of patients in a hospital.
Nelvin, deputy manager, Sarojini, DNS, and Vijayananda, senior marketing executive graced the event with their lively presence. The participation of patient bystanders, nursing in-charges, staffs and students made this event a great success.
After the formal session, the students of 2nd year MHA performed a play on the theme 'My health, my right' in two locations of the hospital. The first performance was near the fever clinic followed by the performance on 4th floor of the hospital building. Akshara, Kavya, Devika, Rifa and Akbar of 4th semester MHA communicated the rights patients’ rights to the bystanders through the medium of the play. Akbar Basha of 2nd year MHA proposed the vote of thanks.
