Puttur, Mar 6: A workshop on ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Startups,’ jointly organized by the Pinnacle IT Club and the IICs, department of computer science, St Philomena College on March 4 at Spandana Seminar Hall. Presiding over the inaugural programme, Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the principal of the college, emphasized that start-ups are not merely businesses but manifestations of creativity. He emphasized how small ideas can evolve into transformative ventures, urging students to consider entrepreneurship as a means to create employment opportunities.
Madhuranath R, head of marketing department at Slang Lab, Bengaluru, served as a resource person. He described start-ups as solutions to prevalent issues and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in their establishment. Throughout the workshop, he explicated on the process of initiating a start-up, addressing challenges, mobilizing resources, and accessing government assistance.
Vinayachandra, dean and head of the computer science department, extended a warm welcome, Soumya, the IT club coordinator, expressed gratitude and the programme was compered by Geeta Poornima, President St Philomena College Institution’s Innovation Council.
