Mangaluru, Mar 5: Yenepoya Medical College, one of the constituent colleges of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) is celebrating its silver jubilee in 2024. To commemorate this occasion, the logo launching ceremony was held on March 4 at the University Campus, Deralakatte. Dr Yenepoya Abdullah Kunhi, honorable chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) unveiled the logo of the silver jubilee celebration and wished the programme a grand success. He congratulated the contributions of various stakeholders in realizing the dream of quality medical education.
Dr M S Moosabba, principal, Yenepoya Medical College and chairperson of YMC silver jubilee year celebration committee, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the milestones achieved by the medical college. Dr Uma Kulkarni, professor of ophthalmology and the office bearer of the logo committee gave a description of the logo.
Dr M Vijayakumar, vice chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) spoke and hailed the valuable contributions made by the Yenepoya Medical College in the field of healthcare and education, and wished the programme a grand success. Dr Gulam Jeelani Qadiri, former principal of Yenepoya Medical College remembered his journey in the college and called for everyone's hard work to make the institution an exemplary in the country.
Dr Abhay S Nirgude, dean, faculty of medicine proposed a vote of thanks. Variety entertainment programme was held by the students as part of the ceremony. The event was graced with the presence of Dr K S Gangadhar Somayaji, registrar, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and Dr Akhter Husain, secretary of Islamic Academy of Education Trust on the dais.
Principals, HOD’s, and faculty, members of constituent institutions, alumni association representatives, silver jubilee organizing committee members, students and media persons were present during the ceremony.
