Mangaluru, Feb 27: St Agnes School CBSE organised the field trips for grade 1 to 8 and Leisure Day for grade 9 and 10 as a means of fostering experiential learning. The excursions were held in November for grades 9 and 10, and in February for grades 1 to 8.
The scheduled outing took place at John’s Water World in Karkala, where grade 9 and 10 students, accompanied by their mentors and principal, enjoyed a leisurely day away from their regular academic routines.
Grade 1 students embarked on an educational trip to Pilikula Biological Park, where they encountered a diverse array of animals and birds, enhancing their knowledge of different species. Grade 2 and 3 students explored St Aloysius Museum, marvelling at its extensive collection of artefacts, followed by a rejuvenating visit to tree park in Tannir Bavi. Grade 4 and 5 students toured the Karnataka Milk Federation, gaining first-hand insight into dairy product processing and machinery operation. Their itinerary included visits to Kadri Park and Gandhi Park for nature appreciation and relaxation. Additionally, grade 5 students revisited the St Aloysius Museum to explore its antique displays. Grade 6 students explored scenic spots in Moodbidri, such as Kadalakere Nisarga Dhama, Chowter Palace, and Shobhavana, enriching their understanding of flora.
Grade 7 students delved into the KMF operations, received a guided tour of the machinery and later visited Kadalakere Nisarga Dhama. Finally, grade 8 students ventured to Kantavara Forest Basecamp in Moodbidri, engaging in trekking, tree exploration with a guide, rock climbing, and a visit to Kadalakere Park.
The positive feedback and enthusiasm from the students and their parents were a testament to the hard work and dedication put forth by the principal, faculty and support staff involved in organizing the field trips. The collaborative spirit and attention to detail truly made the day memorable for all participants. By ensuring that all aspects of the trips were well-planned and executed, the school community was able to come together in support of experiential learning outside the classroom. It was a shining example of what can be achieved when teamwork and a commitment to student success are at the forefront of educational initiatives.
