Bahrain, Dec 26: Mogaveeras Bahrain organized ‘Atil’ food festival at the campus of Papillon restaurant in the capital of Island nation. Hundreds people including members of Mogaveeras Bahrain, invitees and others participated in the event and relished the rare vegetarian, non- vegetarian and sweet dishes prepared at home.
The food festival was organized in memory of Theertha Suvarna, founder member and vice president of Mogaveeras Bahrain, who died suddenly.
Shilpa Shamita Kundar, vice president of Mogaveera Bahrain did the introductory speech. A minute of silence was observed in memory of late Theertha Suvarna. Surekha Suvarna, wife of late Theertha Suvarna inaugurated the food festival by cutting the ribbon.
Rural traditional delicacies were more in number. People took many helpings and relished the dishes. Entertainment games of various types organized also made the programme more enjoyable.
Surekha Suvarna, wife of late Theertha Suvarna, Karunakar Salia and Vijayalaxmi Salian couple, first president of Mangalore Association of Saudi Arabia, Girish Idya and Sangeetha Girish, former president of Mogaveeras Bahrain and Geetha Jagannath Suvarna Kaup were felicitated for the valuable contribution to the organization of Mogaveeras Bahrain by offering shawl and presenting mementos. All men and women who prepared clean and tasty food were also honoured with mementos.
President of Mogaveeras Bahrain Sudhakar Anagalli, vice president Shilpa Shamita Kundar, chief secretary Suman Suvarna, sports secretary Rajesh Mendon, treasurer Kodandarama Salian, honorary president Chandra Mendon, senior member Ranjan Salian, former president Girish Idya, president of Kannada Sangha Amarnatha Rai, president of MASA Saudi Arabia Gopal Shetty, founder member of MASA Ravi Karkera, president of Patla foundation Bahrain-Saudi unit Narendra Shetty and former president of Kannada Sangha Rajesh Shetty were present on the dais.
Surekha Suvarna expressed her gratitude for the event organized in memory of her late husband. Amarnatha Rai and Ravi Karkera lauded the contribution of late Theertha Suvarna towards Mogaveeras Bahrain. They also appreciated the efforts of Mogaveeras Bahrain in giving a fitting tribute to Theertha Suvarna.
Suman Suvarna, chief secretary of Mogaveeras Bahrain rendered vote of thanks. Kamalaksha Amin compered the event.
