Mumbai, Sep 5: Under the aegis of metro-based Karnataka Sangh, a function was held on Saturday September 3 to release the translated Tulu book ‘Ponna Udal Bengda Kadal’ authored by Dr Sunita M Shetty.
 
Karnataka Sangh president Dr G D Joshi presided over the programme.
 

Veteran Yakshagana artiste Shreni Shyam Bhat released the book.  Speaking about the book, Bhat said that the mythological scriptures of Mahabharata emphasized the fidelity of Ambe and Gandhari although both women were oppressed and longed for freedom and equality with men.
 
Bunts Sangh president Aikala Harish Shetty was the chief guest on the occasion.
 
Dr Shetty expressed gratitude to those who helped her publish the book.
 
Padmanabha Sasihitlu rendered the prayers.  Karnataka Sangh treasurer Omdas Kannangar welcomed the gathering and honorary secretary Dr Bharat Kumar Polipu compered the programme.
