Udupi: State level sports meet office inaugurated in St Cecily’s High School

Udupi, Oct 15: The office of the state level 14 years category sports meet by district administration, zilla  panchayat, School Education Department, Udupi District and St Cecily’s High School was inaugurated on October 14 at the St Cecily’s high school premise.  

The State 14 age group sports games 2023-24 will be held from Nov 1 to 3.

Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi MLA, Dr Ashok Kamath, block  education officer, Rashmi Bhat, local municipal council member, Ramesh Kanchana, executive chairman of Economic Committee inaugurated the office. Sr Teresa Jyoti, joint secretary of St Cecily's Educational Institutions, public representatives, physical education teachers, sports fans were also present on the occasion.

Headmistress  Sr Preeti Crasta, speaking on the occasion, thanked everyone for their co-operation and requested the same support and guidance for the future process as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Yashpal Suvarna said, "Good accommodation, transport and catering arrangements should be made for the athletes arriving from different districts. I have my full support for the success of this sports event. Due to lack of time, a lot of work related to the sports event needs to be done at a fast pace. The people of Udupi should be praised for the state-level sports event that went well with all the support. Education department, public representatives, sports fans, associations, and social workers should come forward and support this event”.

Edwin Mendonca, physical education teacher, talked about the preparation of the event.

Vijayakumar Shetty, president, physical education teachers' district association compered the program. Dr Ashoka Kamath welcomed. Saritha Chetan, teacher, proposed a vote of thanks.
