Mangaluru: Sacred Heart College Madanthyar observes World Mental Health Day on October 10

Mangaluru, Oct 10: Youth mental health has become a growing concern in recent years, with increasing rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders among young people. Dr Caroline P D'Souza, a renowned expert in the field, addressed this critical issue with precision and compassion while delivering a resourceful talk on "Youth mental health challenges" organised by Mentoring Cell of Sacred Heart College Madanthyar on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on October 10. 
 










 
Dr D'Souza emphasized the need for early intervention and destigmatizing mental health struggles among the youth. She presented alarming statistics on the rise of mental health issues among adolescents and stressed the importance of providing accessible and effective mental health services. During her presentation, she discussed various contributing factors to youth mental health challenges, including academic pressures, social media, and peer relationships. 
 
Prof Prakash Kramadhary, the student welfare officer was also present for the program. While speaking the importance of mental health he said, it is necessary to  build resilience in young individuals and provide them with the required coping skills to navigate life's challenges. He thanked the organisers for arranging such a useful program for the students. 
 
The coordinator of mentoring cell Nelson Monis welcomed the gathering with his introductory remarks and proposed vote of thanks. Dr Caroline D'Souza's expertise and insights left a lasting impact on all those in attendance, inspiring many students to take action to prioritize the mental health of our youth.
