Mangaluru, Oct 7: In view of National Wildlife Week, on October 7, the Nature Club in association with department of zoology at St Agnes College, Autonomous, organized a guest lecture on ‘Deforestation and its impact on Bird Migration’ for the members of Nature Club and the final year BSc zoology students.
Reginald Valdar, Bird Enthusiast, was the guest speaker. He spoke about deforestation being the greatest threat to the bird habitat and how anthropological activities have stripped them off their habitats and led to the migration of birds. As many as 90 students participated enthusiastically in the session. The session was very informative and the students gained knowledge on various aspects of environmental conversation.
Ameetha K, head of the department of zoology, Vivid D’Souza, coordinator of Nature Club, Vishma D’Cunha and Farheen Naaz from the department of zoology and Sai Tanvi, secretary of Nature Club were present.
