Udupi: World IEEE Day celebration held at SMVITM

Udupi, Oct 4: IEEE student branch (STB 10147) of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized The World IEEE Day on October 3 at 3pm.

Dr Mohit P Tahiliani, chair IEEE Mangalore Subsection, was the chief guest on the occasion,he inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. During his inaugural address, he emphasized that the students and faculties must access the benefits of IEEE membership. He mentioned the availability of different funding options for project, scholarships for IEEE members, free course for IEEE as well non-IEEE members. After the inaugural ceremony, he took the session on “API LITERACY” for IEEE members, students and faculties.

Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal- in his presidential address expressed his gratitude to the team of IEEE student branch of SMVITM. He congratulated all IEEE members and suggested them to take the benefits of IEEE membership.

Dr SadanandaL, institute IEEE coordinator, associate professor, Department of CSE, organized the program. The vice principal, HODs of all the department, faculties of various departments were present during the program.

The program commenced with the invocation by Ashwith R Poojary, Final year CSE Dr Sadananda L, associate professor, Dept of CSE welcomed the guests. Chandana, final year CSE delivered the vote of thanks. The Program was compered and presented a brief introduction of chief guest by Nidhi Patkar, 2 nd year Data Science student.
