Mangaluru: Gandhi Jayanti celebrated at St Mary’s English Higher Primary School

Mangaluru, Oct 3: Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at St Mary’s English Higher Primary School, Falnir on October 2.

Gandhiji’s photo was decorated with flowers having great reverence.

The students and school faculty along with headmistress Sr Maisie had assembled for the great celebration. Rishon D'Souza of class IV B welcomed the gathering. A brief introduction about Mahatma Gandhiji was given by Renisha of class IV A. The prayer service began with the prayer song, followed by Word of God, with a short reflection given by Ronel of class IV B.

Inspirational quotes of Mahatma Gandhiji like “When I admire the wonders of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator”, “In doing something do it with love or never do it at all”, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed” and “Peace is the most powerful weapon of man-kind” were highlighted by the students.

Prayer service was ended with a concluding prayer and a hymn 'Make me a channel of your peace'.

At last, the significance of the day about Mahatma Gandhiji was shared by Nuha Naseeha of class IV B.

Shramadaan activity was conducted in each class and all students took active part in it. Also, the guide students along with their guide teachers of the school cleaned up the school surroundings.
