Mangaluru: Milagres PU College celebrates Gandhi Jayanti, hosts football tournament

Mangaluru, Oct 3: Milagres PU College hosted the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and Mangalore DIST Inter College PU Level, departmental football tournament at Nehru Maidan football ground on Monday October 2. Principal Melwin Vas presided over the programme, District Football Association president Aslam, district co-ordinator and physical education lecturer St Joseph PU College Bajpe Arun D’Souza, Rohith M, lecturer Badriya PU College, Siggi Perumayan physical education lecturer Milagres PU College and Kiran D’Souza, lecturer Milagres PU College were present at the event.  The departmental tournament was organised for the boys and eight teams of the district were present.

Principal Melwin Vas and the dignitaries honoured Mahatma Gandhiji by offering flowers and inaugurated the tournament.

In his presidential address, principal Melwin Vas urged the students to play the sports with a spirit of sportsmanship and also he gave the message to the students about Gandhi Jayanthi. The dignitaries awarded the championship trophy at the valedictory programme to the winners, Ullal taluk team and they also awarded the runner’s up trophy to the Moodbidri taluk team.

Kiran D’Souza, lecturer & NSS programme officer, Milagres PU College, compered the event and welcomed the gathering and Siggi D Perumayan proposed the vote of thanks.
