Mangaluru, Oct 3: A bamboo cultivation awareness programme was put together by the National Service Scheme (NSS), department of commerce, CEC of the college, along with SD Farm Solutions, Mangaluru, the department of forest, government of Karnataka, and MUSA planet Gene Tech at Sahodaya hall of the college on September 30.
Sanjay Chauhan, deputy range forest officer, Mangaluru range, government of Karnataka, kicked off the event by sharing bamboo saplings. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, the principal, highlighted the college's commitment to sustainability.
Dr M Murulidaar Rao, CEO of MUSA Planet Gene Tech, shared valuable insights on bamboo breeds and cultivation. The diverse audience, including farmers, NSS volunteers, and Eco Warriors, actively engaged in discussions, showing commitment to sustainable practices.
The workshop at Sahodaya hall marked a milestone in promoting bamboo cultivation awareness, sharing practical knowledge and distributing saplings.
