Udupi, Oct 2: Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti, the joyous occasion of the birthday of two great patriots 'Mahatma Gandhi' and 'Lal Bahadur Shastri' was celebrated at Christ School, Manipal on October 2.
A special assembly was conducted to commemorate and pay tribute to these freedom fighters. A devotional ambience prevailed as the programme started with meaningful prayer service in the form of ‘Sarva Dharma Prathana’ by cubs, bulbuls, scouts and guides.
As part of the celebration 'Peace Club' was inaugurated by the principal Eliza Vaz along with academic coordinator Cyrilla Lobo, Peace Club in-charge Reshma Suares and school captains Deeksha and Leroy.
The principal addressed the students and exhorted them to imbibe the Gandhian principles of truth and non-violence. The staff and the students witnessed the occasion.
