Udupi, Sep 15: “Udupi district unit of JD(S) is bound by any decisions taken by senior leaders H D Deve Gowda and H DKumaraswamy in view of the welfare of the party,” said JD(S) Udupi district president Yogish V Shetty.
Speaking at a news conference held here, he said that the party leaders H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy have decided in the party core committee meeting held in Bengaluru on September 10 to go in for a coalition with the BJP for the welfare of the party in the changed political scenario.
“JD(S) Udupi unit also has taken a unanimous decision in this connection which will be conveyed to the central office. The party will be strengthened by holding meetings of core committee members in all the districts starting from Gulbarga division from September 26 under the leadership of core committee president Deve Gowda,” he said.
“We do not object to Congress providing facilities to the poor. But there are difficulties as development works have not started in the state. We demand that we may not have Daridra Lakshmi together with Grihalakshmi,” he said.
“Nithish Kumar who is in I.N.D.I. alliance had formed government with BJP. A decision needs to be taken in the changed circumstances. Coalition governments were formed from the time of Ramakrishna Hegde. We had formed a government with BJP in 2020. Kumaraswamy had provided a comfortable life to the poor, then. We will remain bound to our principles,” he said.
