Puttur, Sep 15: The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony of Philo Pratibha, a day-long interschool competitions for high school students was organized at St Philomena PU College on September 14.
The chief guest Prasanna N. Bhat, consulting civil engineer and proprietor, Shree Rama Constructions, Puttur appreciated the students for actively participating in various competitions. He said that everyone has born with a unique talent. He motivated students to concentrate on their goals .He advised students to focus on both curricular and co-curricular activities.
The guest of honour Fr Stany Pinto, campus director, St Philomena Institutions congratulated all the students of various high schools for their active participation.
The principal Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, St Philomena PU College, Puttur expressed his happiness and appreciated the students for making use of the opportunities by exhibiting their talents. He appreciated the staff members and the participants.
Jayanth Nadubailu, PTA president congratulated the students and wished them success in their life.
Jerald, vice president, parish pastoral council, Puttur was present.
Coordinator Dr Asha Savithri, Dept of Hindi coordinated the programme.
About 1000 students from 45 high schools participated in various competitions like seminar presentation, clay model, Best out of waste, stand-up comedy, face-painting, pencil sketch, science model, theme dance, advertisement, collage making and quiz.
High school teachers and students expressed their happiness and gratitude for the arrangements made by the institution.
Jnana Ganga Central School, Bellare bagged the overall championship trophy. Vivekananda English Medium High School, Tenkila bagged the runners-up trophy. Second runners up trophy was bagged by St Victor's Girls' High School, Puttur and Sandeepani English Medium School, Purusharakatte.
Veeksha, department of computer science welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Ravi Prasad, department of mathematics, proposed vote of thanks.
