Mangaluru, Sep 11: Indian Pharmaceutical Association, local branch Mangaluru in association with Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil & South Canara District Chemists & Druggists Association, Mangaluru inaugurated National Pharmacy Week & Science Fest 'Pharmavision 2023' at Valachil campus on September 11.
On September 113, T P Sujith, deputy drugs controller, Mangaluru inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and called upon the student pharmacists to grab the opportunities in pharmaceutical and other sectors and bring name and fame to the profession to serving society actively in health care sector and also inaugurated Science Fest-Pharmavision 2023.
Chief guest Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, principal, St Philomina Pre-University College, Puttur exhorted the students to adapt Kaizen; change for good “an approach to create continuous improvement based on the creative ideas.
Guest of honour, Udaykishore P, assistant drugs controller, Mangaluru advised the students to avail the benefits to nurture their professional lives. Gurucharan Rao, secretary, SKDCDA, Mangaluru has detailed about the pharmacy as a whole and in particular about marketing in pharmacy field.
Janardhan, Punjalkatte, senior pharmacist, was felicitated in recognition of his services in Hospital, Pharmacy. He has encouraged all young pharmacists for their bright career. Vinay Kumar, Pharmacist, Bantwal presented the citation of Janardhan Punjalkatte.
Dr A R Shabaraya, programme convener of National Pharmacy Week 2023, president, IPA, Mangaluru and principal, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil, Mangaluru in his presidential remarks highlighted the Pharmacy education awareness and Science Fest to PU students and advised them Look, Observe, Verify and Enjoy for successful life.
Dr E V S Subrahmanyam, professor and vice president, IPA, Mangaluru outlined the significance of National Pharmacy Week and science fest 2023 and welcomed the guests.
Dr Padmavathi P Prabhu, professor, Anvitha and Dr Christy Chako anchored the programme. Dr Viresh K Chandur proposed vote of thanks. About 400 PU science students from various PU colleges situated in Dakshina Kannada district attended the programme.
