Beltangady, Sep 4: Taluk level football tournament was held at Anugraha High School Ujire, which was organized by the department of school education and literacy and Anugraha Institution.
Fr James D’Souza, the correspondent of Anugraha Educational Institutions inaugurated the match and addressing the opening ceremony, he said, “Games keep the player mentally and physically healthy.”
Principal Fr Vijay Lobo said, “Playing football increases confidence and helps reduce anxiety.”
Sujaya, taluk physical education officer, advised the players to abide by the rules of the game.
Dr Prashanth, vice president of the management committee, Prathima CRP of Ujire cluster, Krishnananda, president, Physical Education Teachers Association, Devasiya, coordinator of sports and games Ujire clusters, Antony Fernandes vice president of PPC Ujire. Anil Prakash D’Souza, member of gram panchayat Ujire and members of the management committee were present.
As many as 24 school teams participated in the competition. An exciting football tournament was held and that engaged the audience with utmost excitement and curiosity.
Anugraha higher primary boys’ team secured 1st place and girls team secured 2nd place. In the high school section, Anugraha high school boys and girls won the taluk level football match and qualified for the district level football match.
Principal Fr Vijay Lobo encouraged the students for their laudable performance and felicitated them with trophies.
