Mangaluru, Aug 30: The annual observance of National Sports Day was held on August 29 in the school auditorium to pay tribute to the enduring legacy of Major Dhyan Chand and a reminder to recall the contributions, determination, and extraordinary achievements of the athletes and their influence in shaping societies.

The program commenced with a meaningful Prayer Service, where the students sought the blessings of God Almighty for a healthy and able-bodied generation of India. A thought-provoking skit was displayed highlighting the theme for National Sports Day 2023 celebration ‘Sports are an enabler to an inclusive and fit society’ followed by dance drama portraying the important events in Indian sporting history.

Dr Suresh S Shetty, the chief guest of the day, in his galvanizing message encouraged the students to play sports and games on a daily basis. He also recalled the early life and feats of legendary major Dhyan Chand and how it paved the way for many sportsmen in India and vividly explained the difference between sports and games.

The programme was compered by Sheryl, Shazna, Megan, Manvi, Insha and Laasya.

Akshatha welcomed the gathering and Mohammed Aimaan expressed the vote of thanks.
