Mangalore, Aug 1: Following the meeting of the Mangalore City Corporation on Friday July 29 when a ruckus was created over allegations that the MCC was being biased in the allocation of funds, oppostion leader Lancelot Pinto on Monday August 1 said that the MCC has been unfair in taking decisions regarding development works in the city.

Addressing a press meet, he said that the ruling BJP was ignoring the wards under the Congress representatives, and that the MCC had not discussed the issue of allocation of funds prior to taking decisions on development works across the city. As a result, some of the badly damaged roads are not being given attention, he said.

He further alleged that the MCC had also taken the decision on the 24/7 water supply project without consulting the opposition.

Lancelot Pinto claimed that some people within the BJP itself are unhappy with the way MCC is functioning.

He along with former mayor Ashraf said that the MCC had been selective releasing funds for road repair works. The Congress corporators have been at the receiving end of MCC's negligence, they said, adding that the MCC had not released funds for their wards even after repeated requests.

Corporators Ashok, Nagendra Kumar, Satish Hedge and others were present.
