Mangaluru, Jul 12: The investiture ceremony of the student council at Ladyhill English Higher Primary School was held on July 11 with great enthusiasm and fervour.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the principal of St Agnes P U College sister Norine D'Souza AC, who served as the chief guest for the occasion. Alongside her, the joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions, Sr Violette Tauro AC, headmistress Sr Jennifer Moras AC, and assistant headmistress Sr Ivy Moras AC were also present.

 

The ceremony commenced with a grand procession, where the school band escorted sister Norine D'Souza AC to the stage. This was followed by a prayer service that invoked blessings for the newly elected student council and their responsibilities ahead. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as the welcome dance mesmerised the audience.

To show gratitude to the distinguished guests, saplings were presented as a symbol of growth and development. This gesture emphasised the school's commitment to nurturing not just academic excellence but also environmental consciousness.

Several students spoke eloquently about the qualities of effective leadership. They highlighted the importance of teamwork, dedication, and responsibility in shaping successful leaders.

Sr Norine D'Souza AC in her address, inspired the student council and the entire gathering. She highlighted that leaders are not simply born but are moulded through experiences at home and in school. She encouraged the elected leaders of Ladyhill School to work together as a team and make a significant difference by executing their assigned responsibilities with dedication and accountability. Sister Norine expressed her wishes for the leaders to dream big, believe in themselves, and strive to achieve all the planned goals for the academic year 2023-24. Her motivating words instilled a sense of purpose and determination in the student council, empowering them to lead by example.

The programme was expertly hosted by Rosely, who ensured a smooth flow of events. Assumpta introduced and warmly welcomed the dignitaries, acknowledging their invaluable presence.

Riya Poojary, the school pupil leader, expressed words of gratitude on behalf of the student council. She emphasised the council's commitment to fulfilling their duties and contributing positively to the school's growth.
