Eighth day of Tredicina devotion preceding annual feast of St Anthony held in Milagres Shrine

Mangaluru, Jun 7: The seventh day of Tredicina devotion preceding the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was held on Wednesday, June 7 at St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church here.

Fr Denzil Lobo, assistant priest, Bendur celebrated the Eucharistic and prayed forthe devotees of St Anthony of Paduaalong with Fr J B Crasta and Fr Nelson Peres, St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu.

Fr Denzil preached on the theme, “Word of God leads to a Life of Faith”.Fr Denzilsaid, “The Word of God inspires us to live the noble virtues of compassion, humility and faith.” He said the centurion who came to Jesus with humility and faith was pleased by Jesus for he believed in the Word of God. His faith in Jesus’ words brought healing and comfort to his dying servant.

Fr Denzil said, “Our faith in the Word of God will offer us comfort, strength, and a reminder that God is there with us through all the ups and downs of life.”

At the end of the mass, Fr Nelson Peres, assistant director of the Ashram led the novena in honour of St Anthony, during which the special intercession of the session was sought for the various needs and prayer intentions of the devotees.

Choir members of Paldane parish sang and joined in the thanksgiving. Payasam (sweet dish) was served to all the devotees who attended the devotion.
