Bantwal, Jun 2: Parents of children at Maji government higher primary school, Veerakamba grama gathered in the school alleging termination of the services of two teachers of the school.
The patrons of the school had appointed the two teachers. Four teachers were appointed by the school this year instead of those two teachers. The parents demanded that those two teachers be reinstated immediately. The parents said that the two teachers were not allowed to continue despite a decision in the SDMC meeting.
Santhosh Kumar Shetty of Surathkal Mata Developers Private Limited who has adopted the school for development said that the school was improved by spending several lacs of rupees. “The number of students also is more here. It was intended to continue with the existing two teachers in order to provide value based education. However the teachers did not agree to an open interview. Therefore, new teachers were appointed,” he said.
The headmaster Narayana Poojary said that the matter was discussed with the education officer who asked to conduct the process as per government regulations. “Therefore, a decision will be taken in the meeting,” he said.
