Kundapur, Jun 2: Drinking water is contaminated due to inferior quality drainage and drinking water supply works conducted spending several crores of rupees at Kollur. People in the nearby areas are struggling for water.
The water at Agni Theertha near Kollur Mookambika temple is also contaminated due to inferior quality UGD project work. The contaminated water has seeped into the wells making it unfit for any purpose.
Local residents Kiran Kumar, Chandra, Girija, Jalaja and others had submitted several requests to the local gram panchayat development officer but to no avail.
Vinayak Acharya Kashihole has warned on behalf of the villagers that there will be protests in front of the concerned offices if drinking water is not supplied to them at least after this.
