Mangaluru, Jun 1: Mamata Devadiga, a mother of a 5-year-old son, who should have been living her colourful family life, is fighting for her life instead.
Mamata, a native of Kinnigoli here, had many dreams for her future. She wanted her son to pursue good education and she was determined to make her dreams come true thrrough a job. Unfortunately, luck was not in her favour.
After experiencing slight difficulties in heath, Mamata's family members took her to a clinic for examination. After a detailed examination, it was confirmed that she is suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (A kind of rare blood connected bone disease).The doctors from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Medical College, Mumbai recommended bone marrow transplant for Mamata with specialized treatment. The specialized treatment is estimated to cost Rs 10,00,000.
Mamata's husband works as a labourer in Abu Dhabi and is now helpless and watching in dismay as his wife's health is deteriorating with each passing day. He has already sold his small property and Mamata's ornaments for the initial treatment. Now he is seeking financial help from willing donors to save his wife. He hopes that her treatment continues and she can lead a normal life again.
