Puttur, May 30: PG Department of Commerce, St Philomena College, Puttur organized a National level Commerce and Management Fest and Paper Presentation `AVINYA – 2K23’ (The Power of Imagination) on 30th May 2023 in the Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall of the College. Dr Jerome Lawrence Mascarenhas, correspondent of the College presided over the valedictory ceremony.
Professor Leo Noronha, former principal of St Philomena College, Puttur participated as the chief guest rejoiced at his feelings of home coming as the resplendence of the College enhanced the real ambience of the Fest. He said, through the Fests a creative person within is brought out. As in everyone there is an honest, handsome person, the only task is to explore these potentials and talents. Participation in this kind of Fest will help in discerning what one actually is.
Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, participated as guest of honor said that memories are added assets in pursuit of knowledge and success in one's life. Learning should emerge from the companions. Losers should always remember that it will help them to climb the ladder of success.
Fr Jerome Lawrence Mascarenhas in his presidential remarks said that God's glory is seen in those who are active. He urged the students to contribute positively to build a society which is good, where all live happily. Participation by 54 teams is excellent and this inspired many to show their talents and power.
Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar emerged Overall Winners. Nehru Memorial College, Sullia bagged Runner - up. 385 participants out of 54 Teams participated in the Fest. There were six events for UG Section and Two events for PG Section.
Professor Ganesh Bhat, vice principal of the college, faculty members of PG departments were present on the occasion.
Prithvi K assistant professor PG department of Commerce announced the names of the prize winners. Aashika of II M Com welcomed. Arpitha of II M Com proposed vote of thanks. Sriram Bharadwaj of II M Com compered the programme. Yashavantha G Nayak, coordinator of P G Department of Commerce, student coordinators Kiran Rai and Ankitha K were present on the dais.
