Puttur, May 11: A Campus Recruitment programme on Medical Coding was conducted under the auspices of Training and Placement Cell and IQAC of St Philomena College Puttur, a week ago at the PG Seminar Hall of the College. A US-based MNC- Health Care and Insurance Company Optum (XL Health) is hiring fresh graduates for the post of Medical Coders.
OPTUM as a global team of more than 1,25,000 employees with an abundance of commitment and passion to transform Health Care as one of the largest Healthcare Service Centre at Bengaluru, visited St Philomena College on April 10 for orientation session for the aspiring students of the College, followed by the initial process with a written test and an interview. On the basis of performance, 44 candidates were shortlisted. Currently these candidates are attending five week long mandatory classroom training programme which was started on May 2 at St Philomena College. After completing the training programme candidates are eligible to appear for AAPC’s CPC Certification examination. Candidates will be intimated for a final Interview upon clearing the CPC Certification Exam and selected candidates will be offered with joining formalities and induction which follows training in Bengaluru.
Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, Coordinator of Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College organized the event under the guidance of the principal of the college Dr Antony Prakash Monterio.
