Kasargod, Jul 6: Six plus two students of Navajeevan Higher Secondary School, Peradala, within Badiyadka gram panchayat in the district, were suspended from the school on the allegations of ragging their juniors, on Tuesday July 5.
The decision to place these students under suspension for 15 days was taken at a meeting attended by the teachers and parents of plus two classes, school governing council, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Badiyadka police station, and representatives of Badiyadka gram panchayat. On this occasion, a committee with the school principal as its head was also formed to question the students concerned and prepare a report.
It was also decided to approach Badiyadka police station with a request to interrogate the students accused of ragging their juniors, and to take action against those who reportedly assaulted the students involved with ragging.
The meeting was attended by school governing council president, I V Bhat, school manager, Dr Soorya N Shastri, Badiyadka gram panchayat president, Sudha Jayaram, vice-president, Krishna Bhat, Badiyadka polices station ASI, Raghavan, principal of the school, S Shet, and others.
